Follow James Whelan:
James Whelan is the Head Coach and Owner of Resilience Nutrition, an online nutrition and fitness coaching business that strives to build knowledgable, empowered, and resilient individuals.
From an early age, James has been involved in sports and athletics – playing mostly soccer growing up and later going on to play at the collegiate level. He was always interested in learning how to better his performance on the field and what he could do to bring out the most potential in himself. He also often found himself coaching younger athletes in the sport and felt an immerse sense of pride helping others. When he found CrossFit in 2012, it was a perfect fit – he could push his own potential, compete against others, and also help people in their own health and wellness journey. This lead him to further advanced his knowledge around topics of nutrition, exercise, and all things health and wellness. From completing his Bachelors in Nutrition and Dietetics and Masters in Exercise Science, to becoming a Registered Dietitian and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, James has continued to be further his knowledge throughout the years.
Since 2013, James has been a health and fitness coach – working with individuals of all skills levels. Upon completing his Nutrition and Dietetics degree, he started to coach individuals on their nutrition and how to better promote overall health, improve performance, and break the routine of fad diets and unhealthy behaviors surrounding food. During this time, he has found success in the sport of Crossfit, having competed at the Wodapalooza CrossFit Festival and Granite Games multiple years in a row, and the 2018 North East CrossFit Regionals as a team member.
Currently living in Rochester, NY with his wife Leigh and his goldendoodle Tobi, James enjoys being outdoors, long hikes, snowboarding, lifting, high-quality espresso, and kicking the ball around when he gets the chance.
